GET WHAT YOU WANT WITH A SINGLE WORD

When you were young, your parents probably taught you about the power of the words please and thank you.
Today, as an adult who wants something -- to make as sale, get a date, get somebody to accept your suggestion -- one of the most powerful words you can say is because.
The reason has to do with something called default logic.
It is a type of logic that is not necessarily logical. In fact, all you really have to do is say because. When you say because the mind tends to agree because you are giving a reason, even though the reason may have nothing to do with reality.
Studies were done in which an experimenter asked to cut in line at busy copy machines. He would simply ask something along the lines of , “May I go ahead of you? I want make some copies.” Very few people said yes.
When he asked “May I go ahead of you because I want to make some copies?” many people willingly let him go ahead of them.
It didn’t matter that he wanted to cut in line at the copy machine because he wanted to make some copies. So did they. But to their subconscious minds, whatever followed the word because seemed like a valid reason for letting him get in front of them.
So next time you’re trying to persuade somebody to do something, be sure to tell them it’s because of something.
